This guided meditation is a gift for you to on this Winter Solstice. These days are the shortest days of the year, and can bring out our shadows and negative personality traits. In our modern society, we can be tempted to “burn the candle at two ends,” staying so busy that we don’t take care of ourselves. Our ancestors took this time to slow down and rest and celebrate the return of the light. I believe that when we rest deeply, we replenish our body, and add fuel to our spirit’s fire. May this meditation replenish your body and inspire your spirit.
Find a time and a space that where you won’t be disturbed for at least twenty minutes, and get yourself cozy on your favorite couch, bed, chair, or yoga mat.
Make sure you are plenty warm with your favorite blankets. You can use a small pillow under your head and another under your knees.
The meditation is only twenty minutes, but I added an ocean wave track to support you in resting should you want to stay in resting pose. It is far from perfect, but I wanted to get it out to you in time for the solstice, so here it is!
You might want to bring a journal for writing down any wisdom that you discover during the meditation.
